| 01.07.08 | Evidence Technology and Tranzscript Limited Acquired... |
SYDNEY, Australia -- 1 July, 2008
In early July 2008 the Board of Auscript approved an offer from senior
management to acquire that part of the business known as Evidence
Technology and its New Zealand subsidiary business Tranzscript Limited.
This includes the transfer of existing full time staff and project based
personnel that form part of existing contracts with your organisation.
The decision by Auscript’s board to divest of these interests is part of
a strategic plan to further focus on its core business of recording,
transcription and IT product development services. This decision is also
an acknowledgement by the board that the best way forward for Evidence
Technology is for it to operate as a separate and independent entity.
This move will enable Evidence Technology to dedicate its resources to
the delivery of more specialised courtroom technologies and associated
evidence analysis and processing services. There has been a very
positive response from our staff, vendors and most importantly, our
respective clients to this development.
As part of the agreement, Evidence Technology will continue to provide
ongoing technical support services to Auscript. Furthermore, Auscript’s
current Chief Executive Officer will play a key role in supporting the transition
and continued service provision to Auscript, further cementing the relationship and
goodwill between the respective companies.
The acquisition has been led by former Auscript business managers Jason
Woolridge and Peter Carter. Jason and Peter will undertake the roles of
Chief Executive and General Manager respectively. In addition to
their board duties Woolridge and Carter will be responsible for the day-to-day
operations of Evidence Technology and the Tranzscript Limited businesses and will
be supported by highly skilled and dedicated teams located in Sydney, Brisbane,
Melbourne, Wellington, Auckland and Dublin.
Clients of the business may be wondering how this move will affect them.
From the start of discussions the aim of both parties was to structure a deal
which would ensure a seamless transition that would impart little or no
disruption to ongoing operations and service delivery. Moving forward,
we wish to direct our efforts as a company towards increased client satisfaction,
enhanced customer service and a ‘can-do’ attitude. It is our
intention over the forthcoming weeks and months to meet with our clients
in person to discuss these changes. We look forward to providing
ongoing service to your organisation now and into the future and introducing
new efficiencies and enhancements to the evidence capture and management
process.
